THE INNOVEX CASE STUDY: SALES DIRECTOR (NORTH AMERICA) – FOR AVAST – A WORLD LEADING CYBER SECURITY FIRM.

Situation:
 

Avast are a leading global Cyber Security firm that, in 2022, merged with NortonLifeLock to form Gen™.  Gen™’s mission is to protect individuals’ and organisations’ online privacy via its anti-virus protection software.

 
Challenge: 

 

In 2021, Avast achieved 800m+ in revenue; they had 1700+ employees worldwide and were the global leader in the Cyber Security industry. But they had even higher growth plans, including the objectives to quadruple their current business size and achieve one billion in revenue. 

 
Solution:
 

To achieve this growth, Avast needed a talented sales leader to drive commercial revenue in the North American region. Therefore, Avast decided to undertake a Sales Director (North America) hire.

A successful placement hire needed to be an individual who was results-driven, had experience in software or security sales and the expertise to scale the Avast North American team.

Avast’s Global Head of Talent Acquisition met with Innovex’s CEO and Founder, Jake Parish, where he presented an eight-step strategy for successfully delivering the search. Within this strategy, Jake committed to identifying between 80–150 candidates and providing a shortlist of candidates within four weeks of beginning the search.

 
Outcome 
 

Jake Parish and the Innovex team began this search and immediately exceeded expectations, identifying over 190 candidates. The Innovex team approached each candidate to create a longlist and achieved a 50%+ engagement rate.

Throughout the search, Jake undertook detailed phone calls and emails to the Avast hiring team to update them on the team’s progress. Furthermore, he took the time to attend a one-hour interview with each candidate on the long list to provide the highest quality shortlist for Avast. He was always available to assist them during their decision-making progress with the best course of action from his industry expert perspective. 

Four weeks after beginning the search, the candidate shortlist was presented, and the final interview round began.

Once complete, Jake and his team provided direct feedback to each candidate regarding the interview process and collaborated with Avast to secure their chosen candidate as their new Sales Director (North America).
