The Challenge:
Experian, a global leader in data and analytics, initially engaged Innovex to find a Sales Director for their Financial Services and Banking vertical in the DACH region. During the interview process for this role, Jochen Werne (CEO for DACH) and Khaled Rahman (COO) were particularly impressed with Andrej Schleicher, who brought extensive experience not only in financial services but also across multiple sectors, including Telco and Utilities. Recognising his strong leadership skills and cross-sector expertise, Jochen and Khaled were eager to explore whether Andrej could also be a fit for a soon-to-be-available Sales Director position for the Telco & Utilities vertical—an opportunity that had not yet been formally opened but was set to become available in the near future.
The Solution:
Andrej’s diverse background in sales leadership and business development made him an ideal candidate for the role. With over 15 years of experience leading teams and driving growth across various sectors—including Telco, Utilities, and Financial Services—Andrej’s expertise aligned perfectly with the strategic needs of Experian’s expanding presence in the DACH region. His ability to foster strong client relationships, lead teams through complex sales cycles, and navigate both traditional and emerging markets positioned him as a strong contender for the Telco & Utilities role.
Through careful consultation with Jochen, Khaled, and the wider Experian team, Innovex moved swiftly to match Andrej’s skill set with the anticipated vacancy. His proven track record in driving growth in diverse sectors and his strategic mindset made him an excellent fit for a role that required not only industry knowledge but also the ability to lead transformation in a rapidly evolving market.
The Placement:
Andrej officially started with Experian on 3 February 2025 as the new Sales Director for the Telco & Utilities vertical in DACH. With his extensive experience and leadership style, Andrej is well-positioned to take on the key priorities of the role: strengthening client relationships, driving revenue, and leading strategic sales initiatives across the region.
Although he is only in the early stages of his role, Andrej’s expertise across sectors such as Telco and Utilities, combined with his fresh perspectives, is expected to bring innovative solutions to Experian’s sales strategy.
The Outcome:
Having only recently joined Experian, Andrej is in the initial phase of his journey in the Telco & Utilities vertical. However, his extensive background in sales leadership and his strategic approach to business development have already set the foundation for making a significant impact. Moving forward, he is expected to play a crucial role in expanding key client relationships, driving new business opportunities, and contributing to the long-term success of Experian in the DACH market.
Innovex’s ability to identify and place a leader with the right blend of sector experience and strategic vision, even before the role was formally available, has been a key factor in Experian’s ongoing growth. With Andrej now in place, Experian is poised for continued success and growth in both the Financial Services and Banking vertical, as well as the Telco & Utilities sector.
